“Connect Groups…the key to unlocking meaningful relationships”

Connect Group (CG) Logo-final-as png-450x364

New Faith’s ‘Connect Groups’ are small groups with a goal of fostering deeper Christian-based relationships among our church members and guests.

The ‘Connect Groups’ meet both in members’ homes– as well as various places near our church–to discuss and study various topics together.  The groups meet for six weeks in the fall and in the spring.  Childcare is provided.

The intimacy of these small groups allows us to get to know one another better as well as find ways we can minister and pray more deeply for those in our group as we serve God.  Please find a group and begin a closer walk with God. Let’s CONNECT!!

SCHEDULE:

•5:45PM Drop off children (nursery provided from 5:45PM-7:45PM)
•6:00PM-7:30PM  ‘Connect Groups’ meet in members’ homes

‘Iron Sharpeners’ Men’s Ministry

Our ‘Iron Sharpeners’ Men’s Ministry has been headed up, since 2023, by Gary Beall.

Not only do the Iron Sharpeners have a Connect Group where they gather to grow as Spiritual leaders, they set aside their schedules to grow closer together with Men’s Breakfasts (monthly), outings (like going to a shooting range together or on fishing trips).

If you’re a man and you’re not involved with the Iron Sharpeners, you’re missing our on opportunities!

Biblical Bandages’

The theme of this group is ‘Biblical answers to everyday problems we face in life.’  There is no formal curriculum used for studies.  Instead, group members anonymously submit questions about burdensome plights in life they have wondered about how to deal with from a Christian perspective  (such as, “My boss asks me to do things I don’t agree with as a believer.  Should I just quit?”).  This group seeks to connect with and get to know one another as we discuss these questions in our sessions.  It will be hosted by Darrell Schultz at his (and Teri’s) house at 210 Augusta Ct. in Annetta.

The Power Of Prayer Connect Group slide

‘The Power of Prayer/Church History’

Another title for this Connect Group would be, “
To pray in the Spirit:
Battle in prayer.”  It’s about taking back our children and marriages.  The group will learn about walking with Jesus by praying God’s way.  God has given us weapons to use while Satan has stolen many promises God has given to us. With the information presented in this group, participants can kick in the gates of Hell and reclaim what is rightfully theirs!

Members of the group will learn how Satan worked against the early church his foils today.  These truths must be learned to survive the coming flood of Satan. God tells us that Satan “will come like a flood.” Today that flood is closer than ever before and will only grow deeper. We must know God’s weapons He has given us to survive the deluge!

The facilitator is Tommy Grider, a man passionate about knowing the Bible and sharing it with others.

This Connect Group meets at the home of Pastor Brandon Carter, his wife Kim, and their two daughters.

‘The Wild Ride’

‘The Wild Ride’ is mostly geared toward young married couples, with or without children.  However, any adult is invited to come and be part of the fun, Spiritual growth, and fellowship.

Want some great topics to discuss as we grow closer to one another and serving Christ?  How about these for starters?  “My Testimony”… “My Fitness”… “My Manhood.”

It is facilitated by Derek and Arlene Jaegers, and held at the home of Michael and Kelly Moore, seconds from New Faith Baptist Church.

‘Essentials Of Christianity’

This is a Connect Group for those who love deep studies of The Bible…men and women who are beyond ‘milk’ and seek to get into the ‘meat’ of God’s Inspired Word.  The facilitator is Tommy Grider, a man passionate about knowing the Bible and sharing it with others.  Tommy shows how the Book of Romans, in the New Testament, is the heart of The Bible and how all paths will eventually run back to that Book of Romans.

The ‘Essentials Of Christianity’ Connect Group meets at the home of Pastor Brandon Carter, his wife Kim, and their two daughters.

Ongoing (Meets each Tuesday at 10AM-Noon)

M.E.T.S.’

‘M.E.T.S’ stands for ‘Meet, Eat, Travel, and Serve.” (It was formerly known as ‘Senior Joy.) This Connect Group meets pretty much weekly (except for issues like inclement weather, COVID, holidays, etc.).  The study sessions last about two hours–from 10AM-Noon on Tuesdays–and are held in the church sanctuary.  We also gather to eat together, travel to fun events, as well as serve (in small groups) our shut-in’s and those in nursing homes.  There is no set limit on what age one has to be to attend and we don’t limit our group to New Faith members.  We want visitors whether they have a church home elsewhere, or not.

This is our only group limited to women only.  We seek a diversity of women and welcome young and senior alike!    There will be no set curriculum to follow in this special group.  Instead, discussions in this ‘Connect Group’ will be based on questions submitted by the group members regarding how today’s women need to seek to pattern their lives according to the blueprints set forth by The Bible.  It will be hosted by Teri Schultz, our Women’s Ministry leader, but will be held at Jane Beatty’s home.

Apologetics’

Every Christian needs to know how to have a systematic defense of the faith based on facts.  This class will teach you how to know what you believe as a Christian, why you should believe it, and how to stand behind it.  Be set free from the fear that controls one’s witness for Christ!  Discover what ‘witnessing’ really is, and what it isn’t.  The group sessions will be hosted by Tommy Grider, a powerful prayer warrior and street minister.  As the group members get to know one another and the precepts of their faith better, you can be assured Tommy’s prayers will be bathing you!

‘Marriage’

This group is taught by the dynamic duo of Chuck and Cheryl Cox, whose lifelong commitment to one another began at age fifteen and continues to this day.  These two behind-the-scenes leaders of New Faith Baptist Church will host the group studies at their South Annetta home.  Chuck jokingly says he “sure can teach what NOT to do in a marriage!”  If you want to be nurtured by two wonderful, Christian members, don’t miss your chance to be in this group gathering!

‘Earth’s Ultimate Ride’

‘Earth’s Ultimate Ride’

For those who have a unique passion for life, you may want to join in on James Horton’s ‘Connect Group’ for BIKERS!  This particular group will meet at various places all over the Metroplex.  If you have a bike of any kind, you’re invited to take part in this unique, bi-weekly gathering.  (Those two-wheeled rides in The Bible were pretty important:  see Acts 8:26-40 and 2 Kings 2:11!)  James Horton looks forward to you joining up with the ‘Connect Group’ and inviting buddies, as well!
